Nicholas Esasky Obituary

ESASKY, Nicholas Nicholas Esasky 85, of Marietta, Georgia died of heart failure after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, November 1, 2014. He was born November 27, 1928 in Irwin, Pennsylvania to Nicholas and Anna Hegedus Esasky. They were a coal mining family. He served in the Korean War from 1952-1954. Nicholas married Florian Blotzer from Irwin, Pennsylvania on May 1, 1954 and have had 60 great years together. They lived in Carol City, Florida where they began raising their six children. Nicholas worked at Eastern Airlines as a mechanic for twenty five years. He moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1979 to be centrally located to his family and to be closer to his son who was drafted to play professional baseball. He was a devoted husband and a great father. He tried to never miss any one of his kids ballgames or any activity his children or his grandchildren were involved in. He loved polkas and started the tradition of the chicken dance at every family occasion. He enjoyed going to church at Transfiguration Catholic Church. Kielbasa and sauerkraut were his favorite meal. He was a man of God and it showed in everything he did. He enjoyed life everyday. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years Florian Loretta Esasky; his daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Bill Ewing Marietta, GA., Donna Esasky Marietta, GA., Kathy Kimbrell Marietta, GA., Sonya and Ed Mullins Beckley, WV., and sons and daughters-in-law, Nicholas and Jimita Esasky Marietta, GA., and John and Jacqui Esasky Woodstock, GA.; father-in-law Joseph Porrovecchio Acworth, GA.; grandchildren, Jennifer Esasky-Baker, Bobby and Crystal Horvath, Justin and Elisabeth Kimbrell, Cindianne and Jay McManigal, Kimberly Esasky, Nicholas and Elise Esasky, Kristen and Chris Tully, Anna and Corey Fritz, Kathryn Ewing, John Ryan Esasky, Billy Ewing, Luke Kimbrell, Grant Esasky, Adam Esasky, Wil Mullins, Benjamin Kimbrell, Sarah Esasky, Ava Mullins and Joel Esasky; greatgrandchildren, Skyla Esasky, Christopher and Carter Tully, Charlotte Kimbrell and Kinley Florian McManigal; and two angels (Joshua Esasky and Riley McManigal) are in heaven with Grandpap. He is also survived by sisters, Julie and Al Zolyak, Margie Esasky and Helen Kachmor; brother, Charlie and Beverly Esasky; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Lakeside Funeral Home from 6pm-8pm. A time of sharing will be held at 7:30pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30am Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Transfiguration Catholic Church 1815 Blackwell Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
