Robert Sparrow Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
SPARROW, Robert Robert P. Sparrow, 84, of Dawsonville passed away quietly on Saturday January 22, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born January 24, 1926 in Smyrna, Georgia to the late Walter and Loretta Sparrow, he had lived in Dawson County for 12 years having moved from Cumming. After serving in the U. S. Air Force during WW II, Mr. Sparrow enjoyed a long and well respected career as a home builder in the Atlanta area. He was widely known for his hard work ethic, honest approach and demand for quality workmanship. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a member or Cornerstone Christian Church and was also preceded in death by a son, Sidney R. Sparrow. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Frances Sparrow, Dawsonville; children, Sheila Sparrow, Dawsonville, Sherri and Mark Helms, Dawsonville, Stan and Judi Sparrow, Roswell; sister and brother in law, Charlotte and George Pruitt, Marietta; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Monday January 24, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Cornerstone Christian Church. Pastor Joe Gaines will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 922 Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721. Condolences may be expressed at www.beardenfuneral home.com.
