Edward Wills Obituary

Edward K. Wills

Edward "Ted" K. Wills, a devoted family man, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, at The Commons on St. Anthony at the age of 91.

Born in Auburn, N.Y., Ted was the son of the late James and Mildred (Schwingel) Wills and was a graduate of East High School. Ted served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957, demonstrating the same sense of duty and integrity that would guide him throughout his life. After his service, he reenlisted in the Army Reserves while beginning a long and distinguished career with New York State Gas & Electric, where he retired as Manager of Purchasing and Stores after 34 years.

A man of deep spiritual commitment, Ted was a member of the former Calvary Presbyterian Church and continued his faith journey with St. Luke's United Church of Christ. He was also a proud and faithful member of the Auburn Masonic Lodge #124 for 63 years, where his brothers will remember his character, kindness and integrity.

He dedicated countless hours as a volunteer driving cancer patients for the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery Program, quietly offering comfort and companionship during their most difficult days. Ted was also a former member and board member of Highland Park Golf Club where he found joy on and off the fairways, building enduring friendships and savoring the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Pritchard Wills; and his caring daughter, Susan (David) Prince; two grandchildren, Mackenzie (Garrett) Halko and Josh Prince; sisters-in-law, Julie Wills and Debbie Pritchard; brother-in-law, Gary Pritchard; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Wills; and two sisters, Mary Jane Muldoon and Joanne Dougherty.

There are no calling hours. A private celebration of Ted's life with a Masonic Service will be at a later date at Langham Funeral Home, LLC , 48 South Street, Auburn. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lukes United Church of Christ-25 Seminary Street, Auburn NY 13021, or Auburn Masonic Lodge #124 (Scholarship fund) 5593 State Rt 34, Auburn, NY 13021.
