Nancy Lee Simons

September 22, 1938 - August 16, 2025

WEEDSPORT - Nancy Lee (Pickard) Simons, 86, of Weedsport, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Auburn Community Hospital with her family by her side.

Born in Syracuse, N.Y., on September 22, 1938, the daughter of the late Marguerita Rose (Featherly) and Ward Pickard.

Nancy attended Cato Meridian High School where she met the love of her life, Kenneth, and married him on October 2nd of 1954.

Affectionately known as "Nana". Mrs. Simons had a love for children she babysat many children in the area along with her own grandchildren. She also cared for foster children. In the early 1970s she worked at Leonardi's manufacturing.

More than anything, Nancy took pride in raising her daughters and caring for her grandchildren when needed.

Nancy will always be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes and devotion to family. She was an excellent cook, and loved whipping up a pot of chili.

She enjoyed shopping, dining at Texas Roadhouse, and watching her favorite shows; General Hospital, Family Feud, and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Nancy is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Tom) Forbes, Donna Zahn (Paul Whiteford), Dawn Hart (the late Robert Hart), Shelly (Peter) Pacholyk, and, Lisa Leubner (Clayton Page); her grandchildren, TJ Forbes, Andy Coleman, Julie Yawney, Sarah Conklin, Jennifer Curley, Amy Hart Jenkins, Jessica Hart, Jarred Guy, Tommy Guy, Dustin Tanner, Matt Leubner, and Dylan Leubner; 23 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; her daughter, Mary Tanner; her grandson, Todd Forbes; her sons-in-law, Bobby Hart, Thomas Guy, and Fred Tanner; her siblings, Marjorie Debottis, Betty Hoyt, Joan Stevens, Barbara Pickard Wright, David Pickard, Gene Pickard, Tom Pickard, and Paul Pickard.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Dr., Weedsport. Services to immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial in Weedsport Rural Cemetery.

Donations in Nancy's name may be made to the Auburn Community Hospital or the Finger Lakes SPCA of CNY.
