MORAVIA | Peter "Moses" Albanese, 65, of Lick Street, Moravia, died unexpectedly Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
Peter was born January 23, 1947, in Compobasso, Italy, son of Antonio and Elisa Vecchiarelli Albanese. He moved to the United States when he was eight years old, living in East Syracuse. He settled in the town of Summerhill, where he and his wife operated Moses Mountain, a horse riding ranch and Go-cart Track. He had a love for horses, music, and movies and found the most joy in spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Peter was married to Bonnelyn "Bonny" Baldwin in March 1979. Mr. and Mrs. Albanese were foster parents to over 250 children.
He is survived by his wife, Bonny at home; children, Gina Albanese, Jason Albanese, Grayson (Angela) Albanese, Sheila (Brad) Hatfield, Lanson (Christina) Albanese, Jenna Albanese, Samantha Albanese, Chelsea Albanese, Hope Albanese, Ronald Albanese, Michelle Albanese, Allyson Albanese, Amber Albanese; 14 grandchildren; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the Wade Funeral Home, Moravia. Burial will be in Lick Street Cemetery, Summerhill. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday June 4 at the funeral home, 22 Church St., Moravia
