Alvin Duff Bryant

JACKSON, S.C. - Funeral services for Mr. Alvin Duff Bryant, 94, of Third Street, Jackson, S.C., who died November 2, 2004, will be conducted Friday morning at 11 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Jackson. Rev. Edward Newsome officiating. Interment in Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Bryant was a native of Ellenton, S.C. having made Jackson his home for the past 52 years. He was a Charter Member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, the Baracca II Sunday School Class, a Deacon and a former Deacon of the Ellenton Baptist Church. Mr. Bryant retired in 1975 from the E. I. DuPont Company at the Savannah River Plant and was a member of the Jackson Lions Club. He was the son of the late John and Lottie Norris Bryant. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Vivian "Dimples" Bryant; two daughters and a son-in-law, Dallis Bryant McKenzie, Stapleton, Georgia, and LeeDean and Jimmy Ledford, Jackson; eight grandchildren, Deidra Chandler, Jackson, Jeri Austin, Au gusta, Staci Browder, Aiken, Craig Mercer, Augusta, Cindy Mercer, Stapleton, Georgia, Christy Flores, Kings Mountain, North Carolina, Eric Ledford, Aiken and Donovan Ledford, Jacksonville, Fla.; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Iris Franklin, Vaucluse. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Baracca II Sunday School Class, Doug Holley and Wayne Deweese. Active Pallbearers will be Ted Bryant, Don Bryant, Wayne Franklin, Barry Franklin, Mike Franklin and Bennie Adams.
