Arnold Widvey Obituary

Master Sgt. U.S. Army (Retired) AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on, August 24, 2006, at Eisenhower Medical Center, Mr. Arnold Henry Widvey, beloved husband of Letty Widvey. Mr. Widvey was a native of Connersville, Wisconsin. He had lived in Augusta since 1959. Mr. Widvey served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Air Corps for 23 years, serving in WWII, Korea and Viet Nam. He retired as a Master Sergeant and received the Combat Infantryman Badge for service in Viet Nam. Mr. Widvey was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. His family said," he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and he was a True Patriot and a devoted Christian Gentleman." In addition to his wife Mr. Widvey is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Liam Widvey and Geraldine of Aiken, SC, his daughter and son-in-law: Alana W. Powell and Tim of Martinez, GA, grandchildren: Jesse Widvey, Daniel Powell and Svend Widvey, and a sister: Arlene Hein of Austin, MN. He was preceded in death by his son: Arvid Widvey. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2006, 11:00 AM, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Reinhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens in Grovetown, GA. There will be no visitation. Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd. Augusta, GA 30907, (706)364-8484.
