It was a surprise to read the Chronicle online and read of Hickey's passing. I had not seen him in many, many years, but I remember he was always so funny, friendly, and willing to do anything for a friend. This is truly the end of a legend. Margaret McKneely Mills

Hobson,
Pursuant to our conversation around you and Hickey coaching our football team at Gracewood. I'm thinking 1956, from which brings back memories of two brothers laying ground work of future acheivements. May "God" bless your family in the upcoming days, for only He has that power.

I first met Hickey more than thirty years ago where he would make his regular visits at Sconyers BBQ. He was a fun person to be around and would always find a way to make us laugh. It has been many years since I have seen Hickey but through the years I have thought about him and wondered where life has taken him

To the Chavous Family,
I did not know Hickey personally, but my husband, Dennis, who died in July, 2007, knew him very well & I remember him speaking of Hickey often. I think they were in the Jaycees together. I worked at the plant with Jim Quattlebaum & think a lot of him as well. We are members at Pine Hill also & wanted to convey my sorrow to the family & pray the Good Lord will give you comfort during your time of grief. It is hard to lose the ones we love so dearly, but with the Lord's help, He'll get you through the tough times ahead, if you just call on Him. May God Bless you all.
