Oh Dave, I just can not believe your time on this earth was so short. I remember all of our talks about your love and relationship issues. Our talks just about life and our present issues, which now seem so petty when I know now how short life can be. Your parents did such a great job raising you to be the type of man many of us wish there was more of! I know there was so much more you had planned to do on this earth, but God knows more than we do. I am praying for the family in this time of grief. I know there are no words that anyone can say to ease the pain of the death of a child. It seems so unjust as well as unnatural for anyone to go at such a young age, in fact the prime of there life. It sometimes takes times like this for us all to slow down, and start appreciating our life and family a little more. We all miss and love you Dave! Comfort and peace to all the family.

In my teens I hung out with David just about every weekend. I wish that I had known like I am sure everyone else feels that this day would come...so that a few months ago when I ran into you I would of taken the time to really talk instead of just getting my normal hug from you and having small talk. You were always one of the sweetest guys out of our group of friends when we were younger...always smiling, always a hug, and even a little shy at times when it came to you and Christie...yall were each others first love I think. At least I remember talking marriage and love with Christie and Mrs. Duke...lol. We all had so much fun those few years and I wish that I had stayed in touch more..other than running in to u every few months and occasional Facebook conversations. You will be truly missed. You were always great to be around and looking back I am glad that u were asomeone that I knew...I hope my little boys grow up to be such a sweet, awesome, mama loving boy as you were. YYou will be missed and I will have you, your family, and your friends in my prayers for many years to come. I believe you are in a better place and that"little" David is looking down smiling on everyone that came out today because you touched their lives. There were so many people there that lived you that I was too anxious to dig through the crowd to find Wedgie, Ash, Christie, or Travis, or Steven. I hope you saw how much you were loved.

When he left Walmart to start working with coca cola and would come in my store to merchandise the coke we would talk. To his family my prayers are with you. David if you can see this from Heaven I just wanted you to know that I enjoyed taking the time out of my day to talk to you. You will be missed and are truely loved by all.

Patty and David-
I am so sorry for your loss, I just spoke with him 2 days ago and he was "smiling" through the phone. I could always count on a big smile and hug for me. I really have no idea what to say that may bring any amount of comfort to you but just to let you know that you are both in my prayers. I will miss him stopping by to see me at work; just to say HI! I pray that one day, you will feel comfort and inner peace, knowing that you will see him again....

What is there to say? The world lost a great human being and I lost one of the first and longest friends I have ever had. I grew up with David and I am blessed to be able to say that I really knew that guy. His time on earth was way to short, but we are all better for having known such a great man. He's with our father looking down on all of us know. I will see you again my friend, I am sure I will see you in heaven one day.

I believe that words could never express the sadness that weighs heavy in the hearts of all the lives that were touched by having known David. He was one of the most genuinely kind hearted people I've ever had the privilege of meeting. He was taken far too soon but I'm sure for great reason. My condolences to the family and hope that everyone finds peace with knowing that he made a great impression in his short time here. RIP gone but never forgotten.

I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful young man. I had known David since he was a small child going to school with my son, Dustin. He was awesome, bright, and I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone; perfect gentleman. As far back as I can remember, I can't think of anyone who spoke badly of David, he was highly regarded by all. My prayers go out to the entire family, he will be missed by all whose life he touched.

It is very hard to find the words to describe what I am feeling at this very moment. Everybody in life has that person or people in which they develop a bond with that will last an eternity. Well Baby Dave was, and is that person to me. I have known him almost all of my life. We grew up on the same street, and went through school together. We shared a lot of life together. To think that I will never get to talk to him again, or see him again is really tough. But what I will always take with me throught the rest of my life is what a great human being David Balfour was. He would always be there to help somebody or comfort them. He always had some words of encouragement to people that were in need or in trouble. It is a great loss for the world as a whole to lose someone like him.
I want to send my condolences to Patty And his Father in this time of loss. You guys are like family to me. I am so sorry that this has happened to you.

Rest your head on the shoulder of our father, my friend, for you are truly home now. I love you man!

David was such a character in school, with his sheepish grin and a smile that could brighten anybody's day. Its heartbreaking and so completely unexplained to see such a good person taken from us so soon, but God has big plans for him I just know it. May God send comfort and peace to his family and they know just how much he was loved by so many and he will never be forgotten.
