Franklin Workman Obituary

Retired Painter CLEARWATER, S.C. - Entered into rest on Thursday, March 27, 2003, Mr. Franklin Delano Workman, husband of Mrs. Linda Byrd Workman, of Gibson Drive, Clearwater. He was preceded in death by his first wife Ann C. Workman; two brothers, William C. Workman and Heyward E. Workman; two sisters Margaret Seefluth and Dorothy Weatherford and a grandson Christopher M. Phillips. Surviving are two sons, William Lee Workman of Belvedere, and Robert F. Workman of Clearwater; three daughters, Gisele D. Morlan of Beech Island, Evelyn Davida Harris of Augusta, and Harriet TLene Alkins of New Jersey; one sister, Jennie Moore of Clearwater, and two brothers, Roger L. Workman of Clearwater, and John Howard Workman of Windsor, and 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Workman was born in Aiken County to the late Emry and Grace Mae Giles Workman. He was a retired painter with 40 years of service, a member of the Painters Local #1756, New Ellenton, and past president of the Painters Local #1730, Augusta, Ga. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Hatcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Herb Sons officiating. Interment Sunset Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Artis Weatherford, Vic Workman, Everett Workman, Heyward Workman Jr., Matthew Morlan and Chad Gammon. Friends may call at the residence of his son Robert Workman, 204 Irene Street, North Augusta, SC or on Saturday evening from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Hatcher Funeral, Langley.
