Edward Slinkman Obituary
He was a devout Christian and led many people to the faith during his illness. He was a devoted husband and father and was also very dedicated to his grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his wife Carole Slinkman; children, Ed (Amy Beth) Slinkman Jr., Amy Joy (Che) Earwood, Lori (Frank) Szumny and Jennifer (Steve) Mayer; grandchildren, Daniel John (Kaitlyn), Andrew, Aurora, Chloe, Lea, Sean, William, Alexa and Josh; great-granddaughter, Veronica; siblings, Harold (Sharon) Slinkman, Bernard (Jan) Slinkman, Deanna (John) Kratochivil and Hennie (late Ron) Bobulski.
Along with his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert (Carol) Slinkman and John (Jean) Slinkman.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 4 PM – 8 PM at The Healy Chapel, 370 Division Drive, Sugar Grove, IL 60554. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the funeral home followed by a burial at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Due to COVID restrictions, masks are required and only 50 people are allowed in the chapel at all times. Because of the restrictions the funeral service on Friday will be livestreamed at the following link

What a beautiful service! Uncle Ed will be sorely missed, but how joyful we are that he is with our Lord, in comfort and peace. I will miss the long phone calls that we shared about the Cubs, boating, and our faith. I will miss all the laughs and enthusiasm and fun. God bless Carole and Eddie and Amy Joy and the rest of the family. He loved us all.

So many wonderful memories of Ed from our childhood to recent phone conversations. We talked about the times singing in Men's Chorus and the Easter song "In a Moment, In a Moment, in the twinkling of an eye, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible." I know where you are and where I'm going because of His amazing grace. Blessings to you Carol and the entire Slinkman family, you will each be in our prayers

My heart is saddened by the passing of my childhood friend from Berwyn, IL. We lose a great man while heaven gains a devout Christian that is welcomed home. Ed will always have a spot in my heart and the

Dear Carole and Family,
I'm so sorry about Ed, and I know that this is a very difficult and heartbreaking time for all of you. Ed was such a nice, happy person, and I'm so glad that you found each other.
I wish that I could be with you in this very sad time, but this horrible virus is keeping me at home, as well as Nancy and George, who I was coming with.
Hopefully in the near future we can celebrate Ed's life all together.

Feel so blessed to cross paths with such a man of God.

I'm so sad to hear of my uncle Ed's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of him visiting us in Minnesota. My dad (Robert) and Ed shared the same sense of humor and we spent so much time laughing and hearing stories of how they grew up. My heartfelt sympathy to his family. He was such a gem!
