John Witte

1957 - 2016

John W. Witte died peacefully on Monday July 25, 2016 at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL surrounded by his loving family. John fought a courageous 22 month battle against mantle cell lymphoma. He lived life to the fullest and was an eternal optimist who was loved by everyone who knew him. John was born on May 28, 1957 in Aurora. He was a proud 1975 graduate of East Aurora High School having recently attended his 40th H.S. reunion. John attended Waubonsee Community College and Northern Illinois University graduating with a degree in Marketing in 1979. He later earned his certificate in Lean Six Sigma from Villanova University. After college, John joined his father, William Witte in the family business, Fabricated Products Co., Inc. He was passionate about designing and building stainless steel tanks and pressure vessels and truly loved his work. He worked his way up the company until as President in 2004 he sold the family business. John continued working at Fabricated Products LLC as the plant manager from 2004 - present. He was a dedicated, loyal and hardworking man who was blessed to do the work that he so loved. John married Diann (Brendli) on June 26, 1982 and they just celebrated 34 amazing and adventure filled years together. During his lifetime, John was a member of Lucky 50 and the Aurora Moose Lodge, was involved in volunteering with Diann for Big Brothers/Big Sisters Bowlathons and Family Counseling Service. He served on the Board of the Aurora YMCA and as President was instrumental in the merger of the Aurora and Chicago YMCA's. He was awarded the Naperville Area YMCA Dr. Arlo Schilling Leadership award in 1999. John and his wife also co-chaired the Marmion Academy Lacrosse Cadet Challenge in 2015 and 2016. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Diann (Brendli), two children whom he adored, his daughter, Michelle (Witte) and Tony Whittenhall of Campton Hills, his son, Michael Witte of Sugar Grove, his father, William Witte of Oswego, his sister Barbara Witte of Oswego, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra (Brendli) and Brian Banbury of CA, his 2 nephews and niece, Brandon (Emily) Banbury of Frankfort, IL, Steven(Oh Mee) Banbury and Alyssa Banbury of CA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mariann (Riedl) Witte and his in-laws, Steven and Joann Brendli. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from the Daleiden Mortuary at 9:30 am to Holy Angels Church at 10:00 am. Fr. Michael Burrows of Marmion Abbey will celebrate the mass and Fr. Nathanael Roberts will be the concelebrant. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday August 2, 2016 from 3 pm until 8 pm at the Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N.
