81 of Flagstaff, passed away on June 15, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Piepmeier Stoops; daughters Sharon R. Stoops, Flagstaff, AZ and Janet M. (Mark) Kindy, Darien, CT; grandchildren Erica M. (Blaine) Clark, Flagstaff, AZ, Brandon J. Berger, Phoenix, AZ, Michele E. Kindy and Jared D. Kindy, Darien, CT; great grandchildren Payton M. and Avery E. Clark, Flagstaff, AZ; sister-in-laws Carol Piepmeier, Overland Park, KS and Arlene (Ronald) Finney, Shawnee, KS; niece & nephews Kirstin O'Neil and Todd O'Neil, both of Overland Park, KS, Douglas Finney, Houston, TX and Steven Finney, NY, NY. Daniel was born May 27, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas to Elmer and Margaret Stoops and attended public schools in Wichita. He married Kathryn Piepmeier in Stafford, KS in 1954. A graduate of Washburn University, Topeka, KS in 1956, he received his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law in 1958. Daniel and Kathryn moved to Flagstaff in 1958 where he became a partner in the law firm of Magnum, Wall, Stoops and Warden. He served on several boards including past president of Flagstaff School Board, Arizona School Boards Association, the State Bar of Arizona Board of Governors, Board of the Arizona Bar Foundation and Aspen Valley Golf Club. Daniel was also elected as a Fellow of American College of Trial Lawyers and International Society of Barristers. His memory will privately be honored in Kansas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Flagstaff Family Food Center, earmarked for the Paul Sweitzer Children's Reading Room, P.O. Box P, Flagstaff, AZ 86002. Daniel served on their board and was an active volunteer for many years.
