January 27, 2018 - I have been looking for old time best friend, Darla Sumner, and I found this obituary telling me that her Dad had passed away in 2008. I'm sorry about that, and I send my condolences to Phyllis, John, Doug, Larry and Darla. May God rest Darrell's soul. If anyone who sees this knows how to reach Phyllis or Darla, would you please tell them I'm trying to get in touch? Darla and I went to school together at Mossyrock Elementary in Mossyrock, WA. She knew me and my twin brother, and my Dad and Mom owned a local hardware store while the dams were being built. That is why Darla was there - her Dad worked with the dam construction somehow. Darla was a good friend and I haven't seen her for over 50 years. I would just love to talk to her again! Mom and Phyllis used to exchange Christmas cards, but that stopped probably at least 10 years ago, and we've lost track of the family. Mom is now in her 90's. PLEASE HELP ME GET IN TOUCH WITH DARLA. PLEASE HAVE HER CONTACT ME SO WE CAN RECONNECT. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME, I WOULD APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH!

Darrell W. Sumner was my loving grandfather and he will be missed much by my entire family. I loved him very much and he will always be a part of my life.
I was lucky enough to be with him very shortly before he passed away and he was as funny as ever. His last "joke" that I will remember forever and still makes me giggle is .... when the nurse asked him which broth he would like to have, chicken or beef he told her " I don't eat chicken because it's foul." Get it!
Any one who knew him was lucky, and since I was related I am even luckier!
