Barro, Doran B.
Doran Barnes Barro 75, of Chandler, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 12:45 PM in her home surrounded by her family. Doran was born April 1, 1939 in Alton, Illinois to Kenneth and Jnoeva Chappee. She attended Western Illinois University where she met and married her husband of 56 years, Angelo Barro, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter Regina and three sons, Kenneth (Amy), Michael (Christa) and Bruce (Kelly) along with her 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Jnoeva, and her sister Kenney Sue. A long time resident of both Illinois and Arizona, Doran loved the outdoors, hiking, the beach, yoga, scrap booking and crafting, but mostly loved being a mother and grandmother. She was a loving, beautiful, always cheerful, intelligent woman with the greatest smile. She was instrumental as an entrepreneur and heart and soul of the family business of 35 plus years. She was very active in and supportive of Alzheimer's care and research. She will be greatly missed by family, friends and whoever met her. Services for Doran will be held Friday, October 10 at 10 AM at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, located at 9248 E. Riggs Road in Sun Lakes. The family asks that any contributions be made in Doran's name to Stomach Cancer Research and any charities of your choice.

Doran was my closest, best friend for 60 years. Our friendship started in 7th grade. We were "Maid of Honor" in each other's wedding. We remained close until her death. She was a very warm wonderful lady, who was also vivacious & beautiful. She loved her family intensely.....they were her life! I've never had a friend as wonderful as she was. She was the sister I never had. Oh how I loved her but I know I will see her again, when Jesus calls my name! I love you Doran~~~~~Judy Barton Meisenheimer

Doran was my cousin, but always seemed to be my sister. The Most Non-judgmental person I ever knew. Her warmth and Love covered everyone with whom she came in contact. I am a better person because of her influence. Hugs to all the family. JoAnn Sponsler (Jerseyville IL.

I did not know Doran very well. I met her at my mom's funeral two years ago and immediately was drawn to her open, gentle caring way. She made me feel very special on that sad day and I will never forget that. I am so saddened and sorry to hear of her passing. I would have loved to have gotten to know her better. I know she was a very special person like my mom.
My dad Lyle also is very saddened to hear of her loss, my dad and mom used to play golf with Ang at San Marcos and dad and Ang have had breakfast many times together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ang and the family.
