Eric Gustafson Obituary

Gustafson, Eric Stevens
64, of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully at UCLA Medical Center on Aug. 28, 2015 with his loving wife and son by his side. Eric bravely survived a successful liver transplant on July 7, but other medical complications later ensued. Eric was born on Dec. 15, 1950 in Akron, OH. He was an "Army Brat" who lived in Missouri, Georgia, Hawaii & New Jersey before moving to Phoenix in 1964, where he lived until moving to Las Vegas in 1982. He graduated from Brophy Prep in 1968. He earned his Bachelor of Science at Arizona State University and his Master of Arts in Science at UNLV. Eric, a dedicated educator who taught AP and Honor Science classes at Rancho, Cheyenne, & Centennial High Schools for 25 years in Vegas, retired from Clark County Schools in 2012. Eric was a proud member of the Desert Fishes Council for 40 yrs. He believed that the legacy to our children, our nation and our love of nature endures beyond our mortality. He enjoyed music, cooking, movies, his dogs, football & traveling the U.S., especially Kauai. Eric, a fun-loving, devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle & cousin, is dearly missed by his family and many friends. Preceded in death by his mom, "Honey", Eric is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynn; son Ryan; father Jerry Gustafson of Chandler, sister Debi Gustafson & brother, Randy Gustafson both of Phoenix, 4 nephews, 2 great-nieces & a great-nephew. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Randy Gustafson on Sat. Dec. 5th from 12:30 to 6 p.m. Contact [email protected] for details.
