Heather Quan Obituary

Heather Marie Quan, 21, of Glendale, AZ passed away on December 25, 2006. Heather was a 2003 graduate of Mountain Ridge High School. She completed her education at Glendale Community College, was a student at ASU and planned to attend law school. She aspired to become a defense attorney. Heather volunteered as a Big Sister with the Valley Big Brother/Sister program. From a very young age Heather seemed to sense when another was hurting and gave her friendship to those who needed it most. She was a strong-willed individual who not only lived life but loved it. Heather is survived by her mother and father, Terry DenDulk and Robert Quan, her brother Andrew Quan, her grandmother and aunts, uncles and cousins who will deeply miss her. Her family mourned her loss and celebrated her life in a private service and would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

It's been 15 years today. It's taken this long for me, Heathers mom, to be able to post anything in public about the most heartbreaking, painful thing I've ever had to endure. The loss of a child. My son and my daughter are the most precious things in my life. I would have given my life for Heather to have been able to continue living her life. Unfortunately, I was not given that option. My heart is also so very broken for the loss of Ryan's life. I am so very glad I got to know him, despite the incredibly devastating circumstances that brought us together. I will be forever grateful to him and all of the others that helped to put away the murders that took my precious daughter away from me and her family and the life she so deserved to live. Thank you to all that have supported us through these difficult times and to put Heather's murders away for life so they can never do this again. We are forever grateful.

To Heather's Family, We are sorry to hear of your loss. As you know Amanda and Heather were friends all through their elementary, jr. high and high school and now they are both in the hands of God. I remember when Amanda past we were watching some home movies and one was Heather and Amanda working on a science project and skit. It was fun to watch the girls. I also learned that Heather and Amanda came up with the phrase "OH MY GEORGE!" I have never stopped saying that. As one mother to another Terry it has been very hard to move on in this world without our daughter. If you ever need to talk, just call me. Love, JoAnne

~To The Quan Family~ We could not believe it when we heard the news of Heather's passing. We would like to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and that we know this feeling of losing a child first hand. Heather and our son Chuck were good friends and we lost Chuck in Dec.'01. Heather wrote and read a tribute at Chuck's memorial service and many letters to him for months after. She was a kind-hearted soul and we loved her. Take care of your broken hearts, as they will be with you always, and know that you will indeed see her again. Teri..if you need ANYTHING..even just to talk to someone who's suffered this kind of pain, please do not hesitate to call me or e-mail me....Robin

To Andrew...your sister was fun and loved life..make sure you live life to it's fullest in her memory. Take Care

My name is Cristina, and I had the pleasure to work with Heather. She was a class act. Heather's dream was becoming a defense attorney that I pushed her to purse. My condolescenses go out to her family and close friends. I was able to spend a short portion of her life with her and I thank god for giving me that time with her. For her family, I grieve with you and I only hope in time it becomes less painfull. May god watch over you and your family and I only hope that Heather is peace.

Heather,
We were such good friends in High School; its crazy how two people can move so far apart but still be so close. Every time we spoke or saw each other it was like nothing had changed. I will miss you so much, but you've got a few good friends up in heaven with you, so I'm sure you'll be just fine. Give Chuck and Amanda a big hug for me. I'll be seeing you someday in the future. I love you and miss you so much! You are going to be the best angel!
Love,
Your Girl Kayla
Ps. I want you now! (Man I miss those days!)

Terri and Family,
I am still in shock from all this, Heather always lived every day to the fullest and I feel that she has made my life more exciting just because I knew her. I am so sorry for your loss, Heather is such an amazing person, and she will be missed by everyone who knew her. Terry thanks for always making me feel welcome when I came by to see Heather. I'll be seeing you soon.
Love,
Kayla

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
