Homer Bierwirth Obituary

Homer Bierwirth, 74, of Payson, Az, passed away on January 29, 2007. Homer Bierwirth, 74, began his journey down the trail ahead that stretches toward the Great Divide, January 29, 2007 following heart failure. He was born in Connecticut, moved to Phoenix at an early age, and spent most of his life as a Sunnyslope resident. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Midway from 1952-1956. After retiring from Pitney Bowes, he owned his own woodworking business. Many years of camping, fishing, and horseback riding in the Rim Country led to his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time Payson resident two months ago. This unique Arizona Cowboy will be deeply missed, loved, and forever in our hearts. The family extends our gratitude to the many friends who were a part of his life, share in our grief, and have extended prayer and support. He is survived by his Wife Laura; Daughters Cory Bierwirth-Klein (Fred, Taylor, Connor), Angie Rogers (Chuck, Chuckie, Bethany), Tracy Reber (David); Step-sons Joseph Pelliccio (Angie, Bailey), Dominic Peliccio. Preceded in death by his father Charles, his mother Marion, and beloved brother Adrian (Abe). Thank you Messinger Payson Mortuary for handling private cremation according to his wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the Payson Humane Society, P.O.Box 242, Payson, AZ 85547 and/or 4-H Clubs of Rim Country P.O.Box 2844, Payson, AZ 85547

To the family, my sincere condolences. I have many fond memories of Homer. His interaction with his girls and his horses. It was a pleasure to have known him. He was a good neighbor and friend to my folks for many years. He will be missed.

I have truly enjoyed knowing Homer. We shared many stories about Arizona cowboys as my dad is a native Arizona cowboy. We'll miss you Homer. I'm so glad he got that letter from Rolph Flake before his passing. I know how much Homer enjoyed his book. My deepest condolences to the family. Your husband, dad and grandfather was a jewel.

To Homer's daughters,
My dad Ron used to work with your dad at Pitney Bowes. One of my fondest memories of your dad was when I was going to girl scout camp and we were going to learn how to horse backride and I was so scared. So my dad took me over to your house and your dad put me up on a horse and walked with me around so I wouldn't be scared of horses or what I thought was so high up off the ground. I even got to feed them apples and carrots. To this day I loves horses and when I see people riding them I always think of your dad. Your dad was the real first cowboy that I knew.
May you treasure all the memories and good times you had with your dad and know that he will be looking down on you at all times.
