Jeffrey Carter Obituary

Jeffrey Donald Carter, 61, passed away Friday, July 16th 2021 following a stroke he had while playing in The Northern Utah Amatuear Golf Tournament. Jeff is the son of Donald and Elizabeth Carter. He was born in Charleston, Illinois on March 18th, 1960. Jeff spent most of his life in Scottsdale/Phoenix after he married the love of his life and wife of almost 34 years, Jenny, and there they raised their two children, Jessica and Jacob.
He was an avid golfer, entrepreneur, financial advisor, investor, and commonly known by his loved ones as a craftsman of all trades whether it was on the golf course, or helping his wife out around the house, Jeff was certain that every job he did was executed to its purest form. Jeff was an ardent ice cream lover, gardener, Cubs, Bears and Bulls fan, and some would say a "clean freak". Above all he was a very proud father of his two children.
Jeff lived a life filled with gratitude, an unwavering moral compass, amazing accomplishment, and dedication that was apparent to all who knew him. He was his family's north star, their guiding light, and his giant presence will continue to carry them through life. His sense of humor, booming laugh, and big smile were known by all whose lives he touched. Jeff was always focused on evolution, having perfected the ability to reinvent himself, he was constantly changing for the better, waking up each day a better man than the day before. He will be greatly missed and will be remembered fondly by friends and family as a smart, strong, thoughtful, persistent, and caring man. Jeff's passing is a stark reminder to all that life is a precious gift, not to be taken for granted, and to be lived to the fullest with a smile and grateful heart.
He is survived by his wife Jenny Hamilton Carter, children Jessica Rose Carter and Jacob Stewart Carter, his mother Elizabeth Carter and siblings Ellen Foster and Mark Carter, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Crossroads Inc., of Arizona (https://thecrossroadsinc.org/).

I´ve known Jeff nearly my entire life, his family moved to Michigan from Illinois but we remained close friends. Our families would plan vacations together fishing, Snowmobiling and even a Canoeing trip.
The Canoe trip was special 6 or 7 boats, parents trusting the teenagers to float safely without constant guidance. To no one´s surprise kids will be kids and suddenly a game of tip the other´s Canoe over began. Jeff fell out of his boat into freezing cold river water and everyone including the parents quickly moved towards the shoreline. Jeff being Jeff took his freezing cold pants off removed his turtleneck sweater and put his legs through the arms. Jeff stood at the top of the shoreline as proud as Superman defeating Zod with his turtleneck dangling in the middle, that was Jeff.
My wife and I offer our deepest sympathy to Jenny and the family

Deepest sympathies to Jenny and family. Jeff has taken care of my parents and Paula and me for past 25 years. Always provided unselfish help and support in taking care of our retirement financing options and was a great friend for all those years. He will be missed for sure.

I'm very sorry to hear of Jeff's sudden passing. My condolences to the family. Jeff was my elderly mother's financial advisor in Sun City, AZ. She adored him. His ability to help others to understand how best to manage their finances was amazing. His passion, compassion, knowledge, honesty and integrity came through in each interaction. Mom trusted him implicitly and I, living far away from her, took great comfort knowing Jeff cared for her and always had her best interest at heart. She loved that he would periodically come have lunch with her. Both being Illinois natives, they had a common bond. Jeff will be missed by all. Godspeed to the family during this difficult time.
