Michael Severin Obituary
65, passed away unexpectedly April 26th, 2014 while in Kauai, HI. Born July 7th, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan, the Son of Raymond and Jean Severin. He attended St. Cecilia Catholic High School and Wayne State University before moving to Arizona in 1979 with his first wife Sydney and son Adam. He worked as the grounds manager for Turf Paradise Race Track before starting his own Spa and Landscaping Business, Life Techniques. Mick was a gifted musician, writer and journalist, he founded The Albion Health Newspaper in 1983 and as editor shared his love of exercise, nutrition and health as he encouraged many to live better through his inspirational writing and teaching. He continued this journey as he founded Fitness Road and touched the lives of many within the transportation industry through publications dedicated to the industry. He was a great coach, trainer and role model. He is survived by his Fiance and the love of his life for 27 years Rebecca, Brother Jerry, Sister Susie, Son Adam and Step-Son Rick. He has 3 Granddaughter's and 2 Grandson's whom he absolutely adored. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday June 7th, 2014 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 2121 S. Rural Rd. in Tempe, AZ 85282. It is with great sadness in our hearts that we say goodbye for now. He will be missed by many, but never forgotten. I was the piano player in the Severin System, I was just 20 years old had no business being there and mick treated me like a little brother,and a mentor.... that summer all the places we played and visited will always stay with me, one of the best times of my life, still have the first night and others on tape...thank you Mick

Mick heard me sing one night in Michigan. He called me over to his table and said "Some day, I'm going to write a song for you to sing". A few years later, he tracked me down, and asked if I'd be part of a recording session of songs he'd written. Then he told me that one of the songs was for me to sing. A man of his word. Then he took the songs to Arizona to try to get them promoted. He ended up calling all of us in Detroit and told us that he found somebody who wanted all of us to go down there and he'd book us on the road. There were seven of us. We were called "The Severin System". I just ran across a cassette tape of some of those nights and of the original recording. What memories they brought back...and much laughter! I'm so glad I can recall those memories from the tapes. One time, I was going to the church for The Stations of the Cross, and Mick asked if I minded if he came along. He left quite an impression on me....God bless his soul. I'm looking forward to singing together again some day.

mick and i sang together for 8 years under the name of Severin and Thomas...after 30 years we were planning to reunite to do weddings and private parties...God blessed us with 3 private rehearsals in february...my heart aches but the Severin of Severin and Thomas will live in my heart forever until we truly do reunite and sing again....i love you mick..thanks for helping me live my dream!
