Our love and prayers go out to you, Cindy, Marcus and David. Every time we were in a family gathering, we enjoyed Bob's laughter, jokes and positive attitude. We don't believe we ever saw him lose his temper. You should be pleased knowing you had a husband and father that was so respected and admired by so many people.

You may not remember me, I was in the YM organization when Bob was over it and Cindy was our dance festival coach/coordinator. I have lots of memories from back in those days. Would love to hear from you when you have the chance.

To the Bess family, Bob was a great man who believed in me enough to bring me into his team(s). I was blessed to have worked with him in the Data Integrity dept as well as the Meat dept. Bob always trusted and believed in me and for that I will always be greatful. You were a great leader and most of all a wonderful friend and supporter. Bob, we will miss those foot steps up and down the DC hallways. Take care my friend! You will be missed!

To the Bess Family (Cindy & boys; Uncle Bob, Eva Jo & boys):
I returned from a business trip to hear the shock of Bob's passing. I am truly sorry and I want you to know I have nothing but fond memories of cousin Bob. In fact, I can only smile as I read the entries already made to the guest book.
Even though many miles and many years have by-and-large separated our families, nonetheless please accept my heartfelt sympathy and may you sense our Lord's comfort and reassurance.

My uncle Bob was a loving and compassionate person who was always on cue with some sort of joke. His knowledge of music always amazed me. I will miss the days of sitting in his media room with him and listening to the Beatles, Springsteen and one of our favorites: Neil Young. I will miss him dearly

Cindy, Marcus, and David, I know that I have not known you all very long, but Bob and your family have always welcomed me into your home and into your family. And for the little time that I have known you, I have nothing but great memories of spending time with your family. Bob was extremely welcoming and very unselfish, and I could tell he modeled that to his family as well, for you all inherited that same hospitality and warmth. Just because I only knew him for a short time, doesn't mean I will not miss him, he is definitely someone who made an impact in lives, modeled a fulfulling life, and a defining impression to last a lifetime. You are all in my prayers and my mother sends her condolences.

It brings me joy knowing that Bobs' legacy and wonderful memories will continue through his family and friends. My uncle Bob was an ideal role model and one of the most selfless individuals I'll ever know. I will always admire his endless compassion and enthusiasm.

Words cannot express the sorrow that Glenda and I felt when Cheryl called me about Bob. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you everyday and will continue to be. Bob was a wonderful friend and will be missed greatly. Although we didn't get to see him often enough, the friendship always picked up as if it were yesterday. We love you all.

My heart and prayers go out to Cindy, Marcus, David, and the rest of your family. Bob was my next door neighbor when I first moved to Longview 22 years ago, and he and his family embraced us, as we did them. Bob and I shared a mutual appreciation for music- I discovered U2 and REM through him. I have a priceless memory of Bob recording the "Rocky" soundtrack over some home movies we'd filmed of our son Jake "gettin' in shape". Bob always enjoyed doing things for others, and was such a down-to-earth friend. His enthusiasm for life and sense of humor were such sincere and unique gifts he gave us all. We are so sad to hear of his passing away, and will miss him greatly.

Cindy and family. As you know per our phone conversations, I share your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with you. I still am in shock as everyone must be, and know that God will keep you and comfort you in this most difficult time. So sorry that I cannot attend the services, but know that I will be there with my thoughts. Lots of wonderful memories we shared growing up together. So glad we were able to get together on those rare occasions since, but will always remember Bob's wonderful sense of humor and zest for life and making everyone around him feel so special. Dear Cindy and family,
Several of your dear friends informed us of Bob´s passing clear over here in Spain. He will truly be missed by all of us but especially by you. May the Lord bless you and carry you through the times you are used to sharing and enjoying with your dear companion. He will be close at moments and for sure he will be helping and cheering others on the other side. What a great bishop/couple you were in Chandler as well as other places.
