Robert T. "Bob" Bosserman Jr.

Bosserman, Robert T. Jr. (Bob)
of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014, at his home, after courageously fighting brain cancer since January, 2013. Bob was born on October 28, 1947, in Lexington, Virginia, to Robert T. Bosserman, Sr., and Lucie Baker Bosserman. He graduated from Harrisonburg High School, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Virginia Law School. Bob was married to Lupe Nevarez Bosserman, who survives. Bob is also survived by three stepsons, Craig Jarvis, of Montpelier, Vermont, Carlos Parcel and Alfano N. Padilla, both of Phoenix area. In addition to his wife and stepsons, Bob is also survived by three siblings, Susan B. Layman (husband, Mike) of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Frederick C. Bosserman (wife, Susan) of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and James N. Bosserman (wife, Carolyn) of Carmel, Indiana, and three nieces and five nephews. Bob was very active in athletic endeavors his entire life, playing competitive Rugby until his mid-fifties, and participated in many triathlons throughout his adult life. Bob has lived in Phoenix, Arizona, since the early 1980s. Bob had over thirty years of professional, operational, financial, general management and board experience (over 15 years in COO or CEO positions) in technology companies, ranging from venture capital financed start-ups to subsidiaries of Fortune 500 companies. These companies span diverse product and service areas that include hardware manufacturing and services, proprietary software algorithms and control systems for automotive and aerospace applications, network management software, franchised insurance services, water treatment technology, satellite/internet networks, radar systems and biotechnology. For a number of years, he chaired several advisory teams providing strategic leadership to companies in the Arizona Technology Incubator. Some of his assignments included founder, director and CEO of Medelis, Inc., a Phoenix-based clinical research organization specializing in oncology drug trials, President and CEO of PFS Insights LLC, an online assessment service for the wellness industry, and Chairman of Nex Computing Solutions, Inc., a systems integrator in Phoenix Arizona. In addition, Bob served on the board of directors of GenBiopharma, Inc., LBS Systems LLC, Avolix Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and Sensor Technologies, and Systems, Inc., and on the advisory boards of Multimedia Telesys, Inc., Moderandi, Inc. and the Foundation for Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery. He also served on the National Foundation for Cancer Research and Carl T. Hayden Medical Research Foundation boards. Mr. Bosserman also founded a law firm immediately following his graduation from the University of Virginia Law School. In addition to his Juris Doctorate, he held a Master's Degree in Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia, and a B. S. with honors in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University. Private Services have been held. The family requests that gifts in Bob's memory be made to Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, AZ.
