Scott Clarke Obituary

Clarke, Scott Thomas
Our beloved Scott Thomas Clarke born in Glendale, AZ on March 3, 1982 went home to be with our heavenly Father on June 3, 2011. Scott was an unconditionally loving husband to Katie Leigh Clarke, adoring son to Mary Ann and Dennis Pennella and Robert and Kady Clarke, and an amazing brother to Jennifer Ann Sharpe and Justin Michael Clarke. He was an incredibly wonderful uncle and survived by countless family and friends. Scott was a strong man of God who loved Jesus. He had a passionate heart full of love for any and all blessed enough to cross his path. Scott, we need your goodness and love to light our paths, so keep your light shining brightly for us that we will never lose our way. His service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at The Church at Litchfield Park at 300 N. Old Litchfield Rd., Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either Crossings Church of Goodyear, AZ or Valley Big Brothers and Sisters. Please visit www.menkefuneralhome.com to leave condolences for the family.

Words can not begin to express the goodness and warmth in my heart I carry for my brother. He was my very best friend, but he shared his love to so many in his short life that he touched. I watch our brother Justin continue to keep the torch held for Scott and him trying to carry out his memory. I am so proud of my brother to keep the flame lit on my brothers candle and spirit. I talk to Scott every day, I share with him my happiest moments and I cry to him when the pain and struggle of life gets overwhelming. I will never forget my brother being there in the front row at my nursing graduation. I will always hold you close Scott, I will always carry you with me. You are my inspiration, my truth and my guide. I ask God to help guide the both of us until I go home to heaven to share with you my journey. To me, you are not gone, just waiting for me to come home when my time here on Earth is done. I hope to have touched as many lives as you have. Blake and Britt miss their Uncle. Please be their guardian angel to help them when I can't. I love you so very very much. I missed you on my visit to Dad today. :( Forever your Sister....Forever my brother

It's been over a year since your passing. but you are still greatly missed, and still very loved. I don't think anyone can ever forget you. You were an outstanding person, even threw hard times. I think the toughest thing about your death is the fact that we were not expecting it. Scott Thomas Clarke you will always be loved and never forgotten.

At Scott's request, you are all gathering together now...by the lake...with what gaiety you can muster with laughter, food & drink, music & song...

My life is but a weaving, between the Lord and me

I cannot choose the colors; He worketh steadily

Sometimes He weaveth sorrow, and I in foolish pride

Forget He sees the upper, and I, the underside…

We are all a fabric woven in time. Scott is a strand. You are a strand. Together we form the fabric that wraps around, comforts and loves. Never static, it moves and shifts and changes daily. Each strand morphs slowly, or rapidly, over time, through the wine press of life. Delicate yet formidable, it is intricately beautiful, even with all its faults, and infinitely colorful, even with all its dark spots and stains. Ever changing, it remains the same through all of time. With each birth, a new strand is woven in, drawing it into the future. With each death, a strand is pulled from the tapestry on earth…and woven into another in Heaven.

Mat 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

I know you are all at the Service, and I too ~ in prayer.
Don't be dismayed at good-byes.
A farewell is necessary before you can meet again.
And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes,
is certain for those who love one another ~
be they Grandparents, Parents or Child,

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.

June 9, 2011

A CHILD OF MINE

"I'll lend you for a little while,

a child of mine," He said.

"For you to love the while he lives,

and mourn for while he's dead.

"He may be five or nine years old,

fifteen, or thirty-one.

But, will you, till I come for him,

take care of him for Me?

"He'll bring his charms to gladden you

and should his stay be brief,

you'll have his lovely memories

as solace for your grief.

"I can not promise he will stay

as all from Earth return.

But, there are lessons taught down there,

I want this child to learn.

"I've looked this wide world over

and searched for teachers true.

And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes,

I have selected you.

"Now, will you give him all your love?

Nor think the labor vain?

Nor hate me when I come one day,

to take him home again?"

I fancied that I heard them say,

"Dear Lord, thy will be done.

For all the joy this child shall bring,

the risk of grief we'll run.

"We'll shelter him with tenderness,

and love him while we may.

And for the time he spends with us,

forever grateful stay.

"But should your Angel's come for him,

much sooner than we've planned,

we'll brave the bitter grief that comes,

and try...to understand.

Scotty,
I am not really sure what to say, so i guess I will write you a letter, like it's just you and I sitting around camp shooting the bull.
First of all I miss you brotha, and feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to spend some time with you and Katy in the last few weeks.
I have traveled this country and in some aspects even the world, and you really are one of the coolest most down to earth dudes I have ever met. Your smile was infectious, and the way you treated Katy, and everyone was truely inspirational.
I will never forget the recent trip we took to Havasupi falls. All you and Katy cared about was making the trip unforgetable. And Scotty it was! THe food was gormet, and perfect. Your bolognese, and gumbo was probably the best i have ever had.( cant lie though i think i got you in chilli)
You truely continue to inspire me. the other night i tried to make a bolognese and spagetti, it was solid but not even close to yours.( and thats tough for me to say)
Man i could sit here and type all night about how Meg and I look up to you and Katy, but I will finish this rant telling everyone about one of the last times we spoke.
It was Memorial day, and we were finishing a 10 mile hike out of Havasupi falls. My fiance and I and a couple more from our party had seperated from the group. we were maybe about a mile ahead of the rest with about two miles to go. Here comes Scotty literally running up to us. At first i thought something was wrong, but no it was just Scott making sure we were good on water and snacks. We took a short break, I remeber looking at his heals and seeing blisters that would make a normal man cry, but not Scotty. We talked for a few minutes about the beauty of the canyon, chugged some water and pressed on. Scotty sat there in the shade, and waited on the rest of the crew. He said to me " see you at the top." And of course he did.
So now its my turn to say to you brotha, " Farewell and See you at the top!"
