Willard J. "Bill" Westerhoff

Willard J. "Bill" Westerhoff, 87, passed away January 11, 2006 in Mesa. Bill was born in Chicago, and moved to Mesa, AZ in 1993. He graduated from Finger H.S., was in the Civil Conservation Corps, and played semi-pro basketball for the steel mills where he worked. He was employed for most of his working life for Monarch Laundry as the top sales person. He retired to enjoy golf, woodworking and square dancing. Bill leaves his wife of 32 years, Sydney; daughters Marilyn Westerhoff, Janet (Bill) Fastabend, Marjorie Weber, Joyce (Daniel) Koenig and son Bruce (Jennifer) Westerhoff. He is also survived by stepchildren Barbara Bendix (Fred Rudi), Lisa (Pedro) Chavez, and Karl Joseph (Martha) Bendix; grandchildren Eric (Megan) Fastabend, Mark (Kristin) Fastabend, Joshua Weber, Michael and Matthew Koenig, and Jocelyn, Madelyn, Patrick and Grace Westerhoff, Rachel Rudi, Samuel Haynes, Sarah Bendix and Michael Chavez. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Jacob and Elsie Westerhoff, brother Laurence, his first wife Evelyn and grandson David Weber. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 18 at 9:00 am at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park chapel, 6747 E. Broadway Rd., Mesa with a reception to follow at the Rec 1 Ballroom, Leisure World at 10:30 am.
