William Galbraith Chaffee

Chaffee, William Galbraith, M.D.
84 of Scottsdale, Arizona, died on November 23, 2017 of a heart attack. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Grace, daughter Tonya Chaffee and partner Tracee Corbell, son Chris and wife Kathleen, two wonderful grandchildren Ava and Ryan, and brother and wife Maurice and Annette Chaffee. Also two, four pawed children, Ziggy and Zoe, who always made him laugh and brought him joy. Bill graduated from Princeton University, and Cornell Medical College, and was Chief Medical Resident at U C San Francisco Medical Center. He loved the practice of medicine and felt very fortunate to have a wonderful 26 year partnership with Alan Gordon and Mort Dubnow who shared his passion. Bill loved his family. He took time to coach soccer, take many ski trips with family and friends, and spent months with his wife and kids at the beach. He encouraged his children and wife to develop careers they for which they also had a passion. In retirement he took up photography and indulged a love for travel in Asia, always ending up in his favorite place, Bali. His humor, thoughtfulness, and kindness will be greatly missed. A memorial service and reception will be held at 11 AM Saturday December 16, 2017 at Valley Presbyterian Church Chapel, 6947 E McDonald Dr., Paradise Valley, AZ. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arizona Animal Welfare League.
