Edward M. Gonzalez, 48, died peacefully Dec. 22, 2008, at his sister's home, surrounded by family. He was born Feb. 28, 1960.
Mr. Gonzalez served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was proud to head the Color Guard for the American Legion, of which he was also a member.
He is survived by his daughter, Evette (Casey Black); sons Nathan Gonzalez and Timmy Lewis (Crystal); his brothers and sisters, Linda (Anthony) Duran, Margaret (Sal) Hernandez, Ralph Gonzalez, Vickie (Bill) Ritter of Riverside, Calif., Teresa (Joe) Montoya, Frances (Al) Moreno, Richard Gonzalez, Robert (Debbie) Gonzalez of Slater, Mo., Patsy Montano, Danny (Missy) Gonzalez of Kingman, Freddy Gonzalez and Judy Gonzalez; one granddaughter; his longtime companion, Nancy Garcia; his beloved mother-in-law, Josie Garcia; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Angela and Ralph Gonzalez.
Holy rosary will be recited Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winslow. A funeral Mass will be celebrated following the rosary at 10 a.m., with Father Frank Chacon as the celebrant.
