My wife, Lynn Harris, and Marilyn met in the early 70s. They became fast friends and later allowed Kerry and I to join. We spent many hours together, at one point we travel to Tucson to attend a Bob Harrington crusade. We took in the sites in Tucson, including the sun Xavier mission. We shared a lot of laughs. Over the years and Kerry and I drained many a coffee cup together. For a number of years, Marilyn and I have an ongoing mission to harass one another when it came to birthdays. I would always remind her that she was older than I and she would remind me that I was right close to behind her. One year she gave me a box of marbles with a note that said "I think you lost these." On her next birthday I gave her a chunk of petrified wood with a note saying, "This should make you feel young by comparison." We shared more than a few laughs as we remembered these times over the years. Marilyn kept that chunk of petrified wood and used it as a doorstop at her home in Flagstaff. They were wonderful people and we certainly enjoyed their friendship. So sad that they are now gone. That sadness however, is tempered with the knowledge that they are with the Lord and we will see them again, one day.
