Richard Gordon Blum passed away unexpectedly on December 2nd, 2018. With Rick's passing the world lost a truly amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was often referred to as a "gentle giant" by those who knew him.
Rick spent as much time as he could outdoors fly fishing, hiking, hunting camping and teaching multiple generations about the natural world around us. Rick was passionate about giving back and spent much of his time helping others or participating in various wildlife conservation efforts across the state.
Rick is survived by his wife Juana Schmelzle-Blum, son Brett Blum and wife Kristin, his daughter Lindsey Blum and partner Luke, sister Pamela Meyers, granddaughters Matilda and Evelyn, and his extended loving family. There will be a celebration of Rick's life on Saturday March 30th at the Museum Club on Route 66 in Flagstaff from 1:00-4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made to the Flagstaff Chapter of Trout Unlimited or the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society. Thank you.
