Scott Darlington Obituary

Scott Darlington
September 30, 1957 - October 31, 2024
Scott Allen Darlington passed away peacefully in the beautiful outdoors of Kane County, Utah on October 31, 2024. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Courtney Maurice and Janice (Allen) Darlington on September 30, 1957.
He attended Brighton High School and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah and went on to graduate from Creighton Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska. He moved with his wife and sons to Flagstaff, AZ where he practiced dentistry until his passing. Dr. D could do just about anything. He built his family home, loved to fix things, cook, remodel houses, spend endless summers at Lake Powell, water-ski, be outdoors, and spend time with his large family particularly in the role of "Papa." He was happiest around his boys.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he primarily served as a scout leader. He influenced many young men who often became unofficial adopted "sixth" sons. He also served a two-year mission in Japan in 1977-79. He lived to serve: his wife, his family, his church, and his patients. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Gina Boberg Darlington, his five sons and their wives; Allen (Rebecca), Beau (Natalie), Chase (Staci), Drew (Mariko), and Zane, and his sixteen grand-children. He is also survived by his mother and five siblings. He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Linda Vista Chapel at 2401 E Linda Vista. Zoom link is located at www.norvelowensmortuary.com

I was so saddened to be told about the unfortunate passing of Scott, my friend and dentist for 30 years or so. Living in St George means not being as aware as I should be of important happenings. I am glad that I had a last appointment a few months before I moved and we had our usual conversation about family and life. Heartfelt peaceful feelings to the entire family. RIP Scott.

On behalf of our family I offer our sincerest condolences on the loss of Dr. Darlington. We were patients of Dr. D when he first started his practice in Flagstaff and enjoyed a wonderful relationship throughout the years. He was a kind and caring man and we will miss him. God speed Scott.

Condolences to the family on the death of your husband, father and friend. I was a patient of Dr. Darlington over 20 years ago. One memory is gazing at the A-Z poster of attributes to look for in a spouse. It was memorable and I know I read it every visit! He was a kind and patient man. Glad to have known him.
