Clarence Hibbs Obituary

CLARENCE CE HIBBS

January 5, 1943 June 28, 2022

Clarence Eugene Hibbs, AKA CE, Dad, Pops, Papa and Honey, was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on January 5, 1943 to Jess and Eunice Hibbs Kiser.

Moving to Tehachapi, California at the age of 4, he graduated from Tehachapi High where he made a name for himself as a star football player securing a full ride scholarship to UCLA. Due to circumstances, he remained in Tehachapi, later moving to Bakersfield.

CE served his country in the US Army for 10 years. After returning home his career as a General Foreman / Supervisor in oilfield construction spanned over 35 years, retiring in 2018. He was known and respected by so many that all you had to do is mention CE's name and the response would be I know CE, love that man!.

CE was a man of God. You would know this by just being in his presence. He loved everything family, traveling in the motor home, visiting the kids, BBQing (hope you like it well done!), and the best trips to Alaska, Israel and Hawaii. He enjoyed being home playing games, watching Jeopardy - crime shows - sports all being accompanied by a couch commentary.

CE is survived by his loving wife, Elaina. He is also survived by a wonderful blended family of his four children: Tracie (Steve), Heather, Danny (Melissa) and Trevor; and four step-children: Brandon (Crystal), Jennifer, Jaime (Mike) and Casey (Lacey). Together they have 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

CE went to be with Jesus on June 28, 2022 but he will continue to live in each of us with every thought and memory until we meet again. I had hoped that I would spend the rest of my life with you but you spent the rest of your life with me.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 11am at Riverlakes Community Church, 4301 Calloway Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93312. He was loved by all and will be forever missed.
