Dee Wilson Obituary

Dee "Weldon" Wilson September 24, 1934 - June 12, 2013 Born in Gertie, OK., Weldon passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was a lifelong farmer who first started farming with his dad. He grew his first crop of potatoes at age 19 in Shafter and then owned a potato packing shed. Multiple jobs followed him through the years, a farm implementation shop, a feed lot where his love of horses, cattle and team roping grew, and a cattle ranch in Oakdale, CA. Later, he and his brother partnered and developed an alfalfa and cotton ranch near Bouse, AZ. From there Weldon had many endeavors. He had a quick and active mind with a new plan every minute. Some worked and some didn't, but not for the lack of trying. Late in life, and not to be forgotten, was his passion for his Chihuahuas. Brother Woody has said, "when God made Weldon he threw away the mold because there never has been another like him." Weldon was the oldest child of L. Dee and Rena Bell Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Danny Wilson. He is survived by his beloved wife Joyce Arledge Wilson, children Pamela Wilson Alcaine and Mitchel Dee Wilson, sister Doris Kirschenmann and husband Leroy, brother Woodrow Wilson and wife Louise. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Jeff, Mindy, Jennifer and Crystal, 7 great grandchildren and countless other family and friends. Services will be held at Shafter Cemetery on Tuesday, June 18th at 10am www.bakersfield.com/obits
