Gregorio Delgado Sanchez 1924 - 2009 Gregorio Delgado Sanchez passed away peacefully in the evening of May 23, 2009 following a short illness. He was 85 years old. He was born in Guadalajara, Mexico on March 29, 1924 and was married to Mary R. Sanchez for 43 years prior to her passing in 2004. Gregorio worked as a custodian for the Oxnard School District for 18 years before retiring in 1987. He enjoyed traveling with Mary and his good friends, Connie and Louise White, in addition to going to the casinos to play blackjack. In his final years, he suffered from Alzheimer's but was always a loving and kind father, grandfather and great- grandfather. Gregorio is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Stella and John Hernandez; son, Greg Sanchez, Jr.; son and daughter- in-law, Moses "Joe" and Maria Vargas; son, Richard Porras; son and daughter-in-law, Ramon and Juanita Porras; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Robin Porras; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mish Funeral Home in Oildale. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 29, at 10:00 a.m., at Christ the King Church, 1800 Bedford Way in Oildale. His final resting place will be Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery.
