John Abarca Obituary

JOHN ABARCA

November 25, 1979 - June 4, 2023

John Abarca was an Artist and Educator. John graduated from Arvin High and CSU Bakersfield. He taught art and special education at Arvin High School and Paramount Bard Academy (now Wonderful Academy).

His passions included art, photography, Disneyland, and anything pop culture. John was a champion for education and advocate for individuals with special needs.

John lived every day for the moment. When not working, he spent days out enjoying the world. He took a photo every day to share his passion for life.

John is survived by Mother Flor and Father Juan, Sister Kimberly Abarca Cruz and Brother-in-Law Armando, Nephew and Niece, Grandparents, and God Children. He was an honored friend, companion, grandson, nephew, uncle, and cousin. Even in his absence, he lives on through the pursuit of our passions. Vive tu vida.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to The Heart of Gold Academic Scholarship in Memory of John Abarca scholarship. Please send check donations to KHSD Educational Foundations, 5801 Sundale Avenue, Bakersfield, CA 93309. In the memo section, please write John Abarca.
