Matthew Justin McCain
1980 - 2018
Private services were held on June 6, for Matthew Justin McCain who passed away suddenly on May 29. He was a lifelong resident of Bakersfield and graduate of West High School. Matthew is survived by his parents David and Gail McCain; sister Michele Wheaton; nieces Emily and Samantha Wheaton; grandfather David McCain; aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Bob and Janice Blanton and paternal grandmother Eloiese McCain. He was also predeceased by his great-grandmother Frances Blanton (2000) with whom he had a special bond in life, never forgetting her in death.
Matt especially enjoyed his family trips to the mountains and beach-doing both of these in May. He had been employed by BARC since 2001, where friends and staff made his work days special.
Matt brought joy to us all, generously sharing his happiness through laughter and humor. He was a blessing and is deeply missed.
