Wilbur Durst Obituary

Wilbur (Will) R. Durst January 23, 1934 - January 28, 2011 Wilbur Roy Durst, born January 23, 1934 in Scottdale, Pennsylvania, passed away January 28, 2011 in Bakersfield. He worked at one time for Davis Machinery, then retired from Sears after more than 20 years of employment. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing, skiing, boating and vacations with family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Carol Goldwater Durst; children, Rod Durst and Elena West, Stacy Durst Kupfer and spouse Richard Kupfer; grandchildren, Kara Durst, Kristy Durst, Allison Kupfer, Rachel Kupfer; daughter-in-law, Kim Hill Durst; brother and sister-in law, Anguis and Mary Durst; sister, Frances Shuck; brother-in-law Stephen Goldwater; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Kathy Durst Kane. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation B'Nai Jacob or a charity of your choice. Wilbur was one of my husband's (Don Wriggle) best friends. They had a lot of fun together. Golfing was one of their best times! Wilbur was an especially good friend to me also. He loved my baked breads.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I worked at Sears with Wilbur in the early to mid 70s and he was such a nice guy. So much so that I remember him to this day.
