To Brian and his family:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. My Dad passed away February 1st this year as well. I feel his closeness with every small plane overhead, everytime I get up on his tractor and everytime I hear his voice. Hope you have many of your own fond memories. Take Care, Stan Tyson.

I first met Al in 1983, when I joined the Baltimore agency of New England Financial. He soon became for me a wonderful mentor and friend. His stoicism and courage in the face of many physical afflictions was a model of how to conduct oneself. Whenever I found myself in launch mode over some bureaucratic screw-up or managerial idiocy, I could always count on Al to bring me back to earth, to remind me of what really mattered (i.e., one's family, one's clients, one's friends), and to conduct me to the nearest watering hole for an end-of-day sip of beer.
My own children, now in their twenties, still smile in recounting the "tricks" Al would show them on their many youthful visits to the office. I shall miss him, his endearing chuckle, his wry humor, and his splendid hats tremendously. My heartfelt condolences to Clare, to Al's three children, and to all who loved this special man.
