I just found out about Mr. Hollenshade's death. My husband and I are so sorry for your loss. We've been taking our cars to Hollenshades for a lot a years and have been impressed by the honesty and expertise of everyone there. I think that is truly a tribute to Mr. Hollenshade.

So very sorry for your loss. I too remember bringing my cars in to the shop years ago and Mr Hollenshade was always there to take care of me. Sincere Condolences. God bless . . .

The first time that we brought our car to Hollenshades was in 1982 and Lee told us the problem was part of a recall by the manufacturer. We never forgot his honesty; it made us life-long customers and his kind and considerate sons have continued. He is at peace now with his maker.

I've always taken my cars to Mr. Hollenshade. He had a well earned reputation for absolute honesty and for aways standing behind the work that his mechanics performed.
I also enjoyed his very dry sense of humor. One time my parents went into his office so my father could drop off his keys and explain what was wrong. After my father finished, Mr. Hollenshade turned to my mother and asked if she was next. She said "no, I'm with him." Mr. Hollenshade (without cracking a smile) looked up and said "well, that's YOUR problem." That became a family punch line for years!

How I wish I had a photo to attach. I can see Lee there at the desk vividly, daily and in all seasons.
GREAT guy, and scared my daughters and wife until THEY learned his tremendously wry humor, absolute fairness and candor. Lee has so very much to be proud of; he lived a good life and made a difference in so very many lives.
I first started going to Hollenshade's as early as 1976, and to this day I rely upon them. Quite a family legacy. Solid and true.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
