Charles Parker Obituary

Loving husband, father and grandfather, Charles Marvain Parker of Perryville, MD, passed away quietly among family and friends on June 13, 2016 in Bel Air, MD. Born August 3, 1947 in Havre de Grace, MD, Charlie is pre-deceased by his parents, William G. and Boyd B. Parker of Aberdeen, MD. He is survived by his loving wife Lynn, brother William Parker, son Mark and daughter-in-law Meghan, daughter Carrie and son-in-law Robert Clark, stepdaughter Shannan and son-in-law Anthony Sortino, and stepdaughters Laura and Casey Shutt along with 8 adoring grandchildren. A 1965 graduate of Brooklyn Park HS, Charlie made a career at the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD, retiring in 2006 after 42-years of dedicated service. He also served his country during his tenure in the Army National Guard. Charlie loved his O's, the Colts and the Ravens. He adored spending time with his family, traveling with Lynn, fishing with his grandchildren, coaching them and watching their sports teams. He always had a joke to share with anyone who simply needed a laugh and found joy in every waking moment of his life. A memorial service and celebration of life is scheduled for June 25th, 11:00 am at Christian Mountain Church, 1824 Mountain Road, Joppa, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles' name may be made to the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research at www.pancreatic.org.

I just found out about my high school class mate Charlie Parker. I am so glad that I went to our 50th class reunion. He always came looking for me, you see I also worked with his mother at the drug store for about 2yrs. He always had a smile for everyone.
Prayer for his family,
Say Hi to our follows Bees in heaven.

My condolences to Charles' family. I knew Charlie growing up in Brooklyn Park and attending school with him. And, I had the opportunity of seeing him this past September at our 50th class reunion. It was like we were kids again, and like then he made me laugh. Everyone liked Charlie. Fond memories of a swell guy.

Charlie was a kind, funny man who could talk to anyone the minute he met them!. He was a wise man who knew a lot about many things. He will be missed by everyone that knew him! No more pain, just peace for you Charlie. I was so happy to of had the opportunity to meet you. Don't worry about Lynn, we'll all help her through this sad time. The memories you made with your family and friends will live in their heart forever.
