Debra L. Bertone, age 61. Beloved daughter of Helen nee Bartucci and the late Ross Bertone. Dearest sister of Ross (the late Judy), and Angel (the late Joseph) Cecola. Fond aunt of Lisa (Richard) Baker, Ross (Loni) Bertone and Samantha Bertone. Great aunt of Peter and Tyler Baker and AJ and Mason Bertone. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 8 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at CUMBERLAND CHAPELS, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. To Debra's Family...
I was both a colleage (at the financial services division of Sears in Lincolnshire and then Riverwoods, IL) and then an employer (within my own Employee Benefits concern) of Debra. She was a dear friend as well as GREATLY admired professional for her intelligence, work ethic, Human Resource Management knowledge, and sense of humor. I will greatly miss her.
I've tried to keep in touch with Debra regularly. In fact: I've been trying to connect by email and phone for a bit. I finally (regrettably) googled things and was both surprised and very saddened by today finding that she had passed so soon. I am truly and deeply saddened myself.
Please know that she was HIGHLY respected, professionally. I only regret that factors beyond her control, or my control (i.e. this bad economy) did not provide her the HR opportunities she both well deserved and would have truly excelled in. She was that quality of person.
I will miss her greatly...
