George Meerdter Obituary

MEERDTER, JR. , George T. On April 29, 2012, George T. Meerdter, Jr. of Halethorpe passed away. Born on December 27, 1922 to the late George T., Sr. and Anna Bender Meerdter he retired from the Baltimore City Fire Dept. with more than 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife Dorothy; sons Michael T. (Judy) Meerdter of Longs, SC and Dennis Meerdter of New Freedom, PA and daughter Kathleen Meerdter of Halethorpe. He is also survived by his grandchildren Diane Spencer, Susan Markley and Steven Meerdter as well as great-grandchildren Rachel, Joseph and Kara.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, May 3 at 11 am at the Church of the Ascension, 4603 Poplar Ave., Halethorpe, MD. Interment will follow in Loudon Park Cemetery.

Mr. Tom was truly a rare gem, he always had a story to share or a listening ear. i have been lucky enough to live right next door to him for the last 31 years. we will miss him greatly :(
