John Kahoe Obituary

John W. Kahoe, age 76, of Forest Hill, MD, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Born in Maryland, John was the son of the late Stephen M. Kahoe Jr. and Anna C. (Jenkins) Kahoe. He grew up on a cattle and dairy farm in Street, Maryland, one of sixteen children, and carried with him the values of hard work, family, and faith throughout his life.

John was a proud graduate of Bel Air High School, Class of 1966, and went on to earn his BA degree from the University of Maryland College in 1970. He met the love of his life, Donna M. Kahoe, in the eighth grade. High school sweethearts, their love story was one of devotion and commitment, culminating in marriage at St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Together, they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage and built a beautiful family.

A U.S. Army veteran, John served his country with honor before embarking on a career in the banking industry. He retired in 2004 as Senior VP and Chief Auditor at Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he was known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Baltimore Orioles & Ravens, and treasured time spent with family and friends. John's quick wit, infectious laughter and unmatched sense of humor brought light to every room he entered, leaving behind countless smiles and cherished memories.

John is survived by his devoted wife, Donna M. (Vanden Eynden) Kahoe; his daughters, Laura Kahoe and Jill (Tim) Cochran; and his cherished grandchildren, Tyler Zimmerman, McKenzie Reep, and Cole Reep. He is also remembered with love by his grandchildren through marriage, Lauren (Jeff) Hegeman and Shelbie Cochran; and great-grandchildren, Emmett, Evangeline, and Elian.

He is also survived by his siblings: Mickey (Mary) Kahoe, Joseph (Debbie) Kahoe, Thomas (Robin) Kahoe, Larry (Jennifer) Kahoe, Elizabeth (Joe) Martinez, Katherine (Jim) Cooper, Helen (Jim) Kurtz, Rita (Donald) Charney, Bonnie (Mike) O'Shaughnessy, and Joan Haggerty (fiancé, Nelson Bengel); as well as sister-in-law Belinda Kahoe, brother-in-law William (Sharon) Vanden Eynden, sisters-in-law Nancy (Charles) Marek and Lois Cannaliato (fiancé, Angelo Brocato); and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Anna Kahoe, and brothers, James, Danny, and Patrick Kahoe, and sisters, Mary Ann Campbell and Jane Mullins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 PM & 6:00-8:00 PM at McComas Celebration of Life Center, Jarrettsville, MD. A Christian Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Forest Hill, MD.
