Shearman Dance Obituary

Shearman Scott Dance III, a construction executive, avid cyclist and lover of music and mountains who was better known as Mike, died Sept. 5 at Gilchrist Hospice Center after a brave yearlong fight with pancreatic cancer. He was 62. His loved ones will always remember his sharp sense of humor, his ability to fix or build anything, and his immense strength.

He was a devoted husband to Elaina, of Mount Washington; father to Martha Nelson (Trent) of Denver, Shearman Scott Dance IV and Lila Dance of Baltimore; son of Shearman Scott Dance Jr. (Lee) of Las Vegas; brother to Cindy Gribbin (Mike) of Timonium, Stephanie Dance of Clearwater, Fla., and Lindsay Sanderson (Brett) of Palm City, Fla.; and grandfather to Louisa and Wesley Nelson of Denver. Preceding him in death were his mother and stepfather, Lauri and Michael Weinman, and his grandparents, Shearman and Helen Dance and Anna Fay Jenkins.

Plans for a celebration of his life are pending. Donations in his memory can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

I remember him when he was a teenager. A fine and loving person. I am sure he continued to be that through out his life. RIP
