Stephen Thomas

On April 16, 2021 Stephen Richard Thomas, 71,formerly of Dundalk, MD, passed away after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cynthia Blankenship Thomas. The devoted father of Stephen R. Thomas and his wife Kristina, Shawn R. Thomas and Scott R. Thomas. He is also survived by two granddaughters Olivia N. Thomas and Alexis N. Findley. Two sisters Barbara Purkey and Kathleen Thomas. Steve was preceded in death by his parents James E. Thomas and Mary Kushma Thomas. He was a 1967 graduate of Dundalk Senior High School, and went on to receive a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 1973. After college graduation, Steve landed his first job at Riggs Distler which kick-started a 43-year career in Construction Project Management. Steve retired in 2016 from Centennial Contractors, Inc. In his free time, Steve enjoyed his family get-togethers, boating, fishing, crabbing, all sorts of puzzles and watching detective TV dramas shows. Steve was also a member of The Love of Christ Church of God in Joppa, MD. Visitation will be held at the Duda-Ruck Funeral Home at 7922 Wise Ave., Baltimore, MD 21222 on Wednesday April 21, 2021 from 10AM-12PM, followed by a service officiated by Rev. Michael Still. Burial will follow immediately after at Oak Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
