Helen A. Hamilton, 87

Helen A. Hamilton, 87, of Marshall, Arkansas went home to be with the Lord on June 1, 2011 at Highland Court in Marshall. She was born on August 9, 1923 to Ben and Maude (Weaver) Mathis.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Leo, her mother and father, Ben and Maude Mathis and three brothers, Paul, Claude and Ben Charles.

She is survived by a sister, Mary Brasel of Harrison, AR. She also leaves behind three sons and two daughters: Bart Hamilton and wife Mary of Harrison, AR, Fred Hamilton and wife Kathy of Springfield, MO and Mike Hamilton and wife Gail of Tonitown, AR, Barbara Steen and husband Tommy of Mtn. Home, AR and Lori Gray and husband Wendell of Marshall, AR. Helen was "Granny" to Lesa Fitchue, Brian Steen, Brandi Haynes, Tim Hamilton, Jeff Hamilton, Scott Hamilton, Brandon Hamilton, Ashley Dewey, Andrea McCallister and Matt Gray, along with 16 great grandchildren. In addition, she will leave behind many nieces, nephews and friends, which include one special friend who stayed with her until the end, Bobbie Phillips.

Helen was a homemaker and she spent many happy years as a clerk at Ben Franklins in Marshall. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Marshall.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall with Bro. Donnie Chisum officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30—2:00 PM on the same day as the service at the Chapel. Burial will be in Marshall Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Brian Steen, Tim Hamilton, Jeff Hamilton, Scott Hamilton, Brandon Hamilton and Matt Gray.
