Marion Pope Obituary
Marion Rose Pope, age 81, of Henderson, Arkansas, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 3, 1929, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Erwin D. "Ed" and Beatrice M. Noga Bowman. Mrs. Pope graduated from Viola High School, Viola, Arkansas, and owned Marion Rose's Kennels. She also worked for the Mountain Home Public Schools as a bus driver and a cook at Nelson-Wilks Elementary School cafeteria, and provided in-home child care services. She was a member of Henderson First Baptist Church, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, enjoyed being with her family and friends, and also enjoyed pets and dancing.
Survivors are two sons: Larry J. (Elaine) Pope: Henderson, Arkansas, and Ronny W. (Karen) Pope: Fayetteville, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Traci Pope (Brad) Garringer, Jason (Leslie) Pope, Angie Pope (Bill) McArdle, and Shannon (Brenda) Pope; and six great-grandchildren: Ryan Garringer; Breanna, Addison and Andrew McArdle; Kaitlyn and Lauren Pope. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harlin Pope.
Visitation will be from Noon-9:00 P.M. Saturday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Henderson First Baptist Church with Reverend Van Brown officiating. Interment will be in Custer-Herron Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of North Central Arkansas. I have many fond memories of Marion Rose. She has always been a good friend. I send my condolences to her family. Although she will be missed, I feel confident she is at home with the Lord.

Larry, We are Keeping you and your family in our thoughts and in our prayers. She will be missed by all of her family and her friends, However, she is in a peace unlike any place on this earth.
