Robert Southard Obituary

Robert Curtis Southard, 82, of Norfork, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

He was born on March 27, 1943, to Clyde and Abitha (Hughes) Southard. Robert graduated from Norfork High School in 1961. He retired from Baxter Lab after working there for over 32 years.

Robert loved the outdoors and raising beagles that he would enter into field trial competitions. His favorite thing to do was visit with friends and family. Robert attended Norfork First Baptist Church.

Robert is survived by four children, Brenda (Dennis) Dodd, Sherry Mason, Mandy Switzer and Travis (Elayna) Southard; five grandchildren, Ashley (Stephen) Wells, Sonya Mullen, Steven Switzer, Case Southard and Uriah Southard; one great-grandson, William Mullen; two nephews, Robbie Southard and Marty Southard; and one very special granddaughter, Ariel Fountain.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Virgil Southard; one son-in-law, Rick Mason; and his wife, Zella (Hickman) Southard.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025,.at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Norfork First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Galatia Cemetery.
