August 8, 2016

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Janet Ruth Broussard, 65, of Seabrook, Texas announces she passed away in her private residence on Monday, August 8th. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Edith and Kirby Broussard, and brother, Mike Broussard, all of Lake Charles, LA. Janet is survived by her daughters, Nicole R. Courtney of La Porte, TX and Candace C. Corner of Lake Charles, LA; grand-daughters, Cameron and Averie Corner and their father, Lance Corner of Lake Charles, LA; caring life partner, Laird Cogburn of Seabrook, TX; sisters, Connie David and husband Manuel of Lake Charles, LA; Fran Gladden and husband Buck of Baton Rouge, LA; Vonda Broussard of Lafayette, LA; and Judy Broussard Pierrottie and husband Joe of Lake Charles, LA; 9 nieces & nephews, and 15 great-nieces & great-nephews; dear friend, Carolyn McAllister; and numerous friends throughout life's journey. Janet spent her career working in the real estate title industry in Clear Lake, TX. She modeled humble love for her family and friends, and had a selfless, caring spirit. Janet was an avid reader with a passion for novels. She had life-long love of the water whether it be water-skiing in younger years, fishing, being at the beach, sailing or boating. Some of the fondest memories family and friends share with Janet was time spent together on or near the water. The family will hold a private "Celebration of Life" in Janet's memory at a later date, per her personal wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Janet's name may be made to the charity of your choice.

The Broussard family has always been very special to me. Being a few years younger than Janet, I always looked up to her. She will be missed!
