Kenneth Nau

Kenneth Russell Nau, born on May 19, 1962 in Newport News, Virginia, passed away December 31, 2012 in Houston, with his family and a few close friends by his side. Kenny spent the last month of his life battling pneumonia in the Memorial Hermann Southeast ICU, near his home. Kenny is preceded in death by his father, Fred Nau. He is survived by his mother, Rowena Surratt; his sister, Debbie Nau Buchanan; and brother, Michael 'Cliff' Nau. He will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Kenny grew up in Friendswood, graduated from Friendswood High School in 1980; received a Bachelor of Science degree at Texas Tech University in 1986, followed by a Masters Degree of Recreation at Indiana University in 1992. Kenny was a Social Services Specialist with the State of Oklahoma for many years before his recent return to Texas. He was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America from his early years throughout adulthood, achieving the Vigil Honor in the Order of the Arrow and Eagle Scout, Silver Palm. Kenny will be most remembered for his sense of humor and his desire to help others.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Niday Funeral Home - Beamer Chapel 12440 Beamer Road, Houston, TX, with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
