Lena Lotter Obituary
February 23, 1939 - November 24, 2024
Lena Ione (Rieken) Lotter went home to be with her Heavenly Father on November 24, 2024. Lena was born to Tina (Harms) and Rieks Rieken on February 23, 1939 near Cook, Nebraska. Lena attended country school near Johnson, Nebraska. On June 22, 1968 she was united in marriage to Larry Lotter. They then moved to Beatrice, Nebraska where she worked at Dempsters, and later at MOSAIC until her retirement. She enjoyed Nebraska football, and many activities including playing cards.
Lena is survived by sons Kevin (Lisa) Bohling and Bryan Bohling, of Beatrice; daughters Rhonda Bohling of Beatrice, Lisa (Art) Monfelt of Barneston, and Jennifer (Dave) Diehl of Beatrice; sisters Peg Thompson of Lincoln, and Tina Green of Auburn; sister in law Irene Rieken of Nebraska City; 7 grandchildren, Cody (Amber) Stiefvater of Beatrice, Kenzie (Joel) Brueggemann of Beatrice, Jessica (Clay) Sapp of Monroe, NE, Emily (Justin) Hollis of Florida, Taylor Cornelius of Norfolk, Dylan Diehl of Omaha, and Connor Diehl of Beatrice; 10 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry Lotter (2018); daughter Deb Smith and son in law Charles Smith; and several brothers and sisters.
Public visitation for Lena will be held from 9-11:00 AM on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, 708 N. 6th Street in Beatrice with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. The service will be Livestreamed on her memory page at www.ghchapel.com. Interment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
