WYMORE - Mildred R. Weiner, 83, Wymore, died Sunday night, April 27, 2003, at the Beatrice Community Hospital and Health Center. She was born July 4, 1919, on a farm west of Wilber and attended District 34 rural school. She married Miles H. Weiner on Aug. 2, 1938, at Beatrice. They lived on farms near Oketo, Kan., Odell and Wymore, Neb., before moving into Wymore in 1967. She was a cook at the Narrow Gage Café and the Dairy Point at Wymore. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking and keeping daily journals.
Survivors: son, Eugene Weiner and wife Jeannine of Lincoln; a daughter-in-law Charlotte Garton and husband Roger of Diller; grandchildren, Jamie Weiner and her fiancée Craig Boyer; Jill Francis and husband Jeremy, and Christopher Weiner; a stepgrandson Joshua Utley and wife Jessica; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Frank E. Shestak of Wilber; sisters-in-law, Agnes Shestak of Wilber, and Maxine Shestak of South Dakota; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Mary (Soldat) Shestak; her husband, Miles H. Weiner (July 20, 1986); son, Ivan Weiner (March 17, 1996); brothers, Charles, Joe and Fred Shestak; a sister, Anna Zednick
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, Ninth and K streets, Wymore, Pastor Judith Dye officiating. Burial: Odell Czech Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday until the time of the service on Thursday. Memorials designated to Cancer Research with the funeral home in charge. Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, Wymore.
